Shipping & Returns
Last updated: 16 July 2026
Thank you for supporting YAMESSI, a small independent fan/tribute t-shirt project operated from Portugal (EU). This page explains how your order is made, how and when it ships, what it costs, and — just as importantly — your rights as a consumer when something isn't right. We've tried to write it in plain language so that first-time buyers and family members can follow it easily. If anything here is unclear, email us at [email protected] and a real person will reply.
This page works alongside our Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. Nothing on this page limits the mandatory consumer rights you have under Portuguese and European Union law.
1. Overview — made to order, printed on demand
YAMESSI does not hold stock. Every item is printed to order especially for you by our third-party print-on-demand and fulfilment partner (Printful), and then shipped directly to your address. Depending on availability and your location, your order may be produced and dispatched from a facility in the EU, the US, or another region.
Because each shirt is made individually once you order, there is a short production step before anything ships. This also means items are produced specifically to your selection (size, colour, design), so please double-check your choices at checkout. Your legal right of withdrawal under EU law still applies to our standard catalogue products, and is explained fully in section 9.
2. Order processing and production time
Once your payment is confirmed, your order enters production. Typical production/printing time is 2–5 business days (Monday–Friday, excluding public holidays). Business days do not include weekends or holidays in the producing facility's country.
During busy periods (for example, seasonal peaks, sales, or new drops) production can take a little longer. If we expect a significant delay on your specific order, we'll let you know by email.
3. Delivery times
Delivery time is counted after your order has been produced and dispatched — it is not counted from the moment you place the order. When your parcel ships, we email you a tracking link (see section 6).
The figures below are estimates, not guarantees. Actual delivery depends on the carrier, the destination, customs processing, and factors outside our control.
| Region | Estimated delivery after dispatch |
|---|---|
| Portugal & European Union | Approx. 3–7 business days |
| United Kingdom, Switzerland & non-EU Europe | Approx. 5–10 business days (plus any customs handling) |
| North America | Approx. 5–12 business days |
| Rest of the world | Approx. 10–20+ business days |
Remember to add the 2–5 business days of production time from section 2 to these delivery estimates to gauge total arrival time.
4. Where we ship
We ship worldwide. Because items are produced and dispatched by our fulfilment partner from multiple facilities (EU/US/other), the exact origin of your parcel depends on your location and current availability. In rare cases we may be unable to ship to a particular destination due to carrier or legal restrictions; if that affects your order, we'll contact you and offer a full refund.
5. Shipping costs
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your delivery country and is shown clearly before you pay. It is added on top of the product price.
Please note:
- The shipping amount shown at checkout is the amount you pay — there are no extra fees added afterwards from our side.
- Shipping covers standard carriage only. It does not cover customs duties, import taxes, or handling fees charged by the destination country — see section 7.
- Rates may change over time; the rate in force is always the one shown at checkout when you place your order.
- All prices on the store are shown in euros (EUR).
6. Order tracking
When your order is dispatched, we send a tracking link by email to the address you used at checkout. Please allow up to 24–48 hours after dispatch for the first tracking scan to appear as the carrier registers the parcel.
If you haven't received a dispatch/tracking email within a reasonable time, first check your spam or promotions folder, then contact us at [email protected] with your order number and we'll help.
7. Customs, duties and import taxes
For deliveries within the European Union, there are normally no additional customs charges.
For deliveries outside the EU (and in some cross-border cases), your parcel may be subject to import duties, taxes (such as VAT/sales tax), and carrier handling fees charged by your local authorities on arrival. These charges are the customer's responsibility and are not included in our prices or collected by us. They are set by your country, not by YAMESSI, and we cannot predict or reimburse them.
If a parcel is returned to us because import charges were refused or left unpaid, we will refund the price of the goods once the item is back with our fulfilment partner, but any non-recoverable outbound or return shipping costs may be deducted.
8. Delays, lost or undelivered parcels, and incorrect addresses
Delays. Occasionally parcels are delayed by carriers, customs, weather, or peak volumes. If your tracking hasn't updated for a while or your estimated window has clearly passed, email us at [email protected] with your order number and we'll open an enquiry with the carrier and fulfilment partner on your behalf.
Lost parcels. If a parcel is confirmed lost in transit, we will arrange a free replacement or a full refund. Under EU consumer law, the risk of loss or damage during shipping is ours until the goods are physically delivered to you — you are protected.
Incorrect or incomplete addresses. It is the customer's responsibility to provide a complete and correct delivery address at checkout. If a parcel is returned or lost because the address you gave was wrong or incomplete, we'll gladly reship it, but we may have to charge the reshipment cost. Please contact us as soon as possible after ordering if you spot a mistake — if the item hasn't entered production or shipped yet, we can often still correct it.
Marked delivered but not received. If tracking shows delivery but you can't find your parcel, check with household members, neighbours, and any safe-drop location, then contact us so we can investigate with the carrier.
9. Right of withdrawal (EU 14-day cooling-off period)
Who qualifies. This right applies to consumers (people buying for personal, non-business purposes) resident in the European Union.
The window. You have 14 calendar days from the day you receive the item to notify us that you're withdrawing. You then have a further 14 days to send the item back.
Condition of returned items. To be accepted, items should be returned unworn, unwashed, with original tags attached and in their original packaging. You may handle the item only as you would in a shop to check its nature and fit. Items that show clear signs of use, washing, or damage caused by handling beyond that may have their refund value reduced.
How to notify us. Send an email to [email protected] with your order number and a clear statement that you are withdrawing from the purchase. You can write your own message or copy the model form below.
Model withdrawal form (copy, fill in, and email to us — you are not obliged to use this exact wording):
To: YAMESSI — Ladislau Paulo Andrade, email [email protected] (we reply with the postal address for your return)
I/We hereby give notice that I/We withdraw from my/our contract of sale of the following goods:
— Order number: ____________________
— Item(s): ____________________
— Ordered on / received on: ____________________
— Name of consumer(s): ____________________
— Address of consumer(s): ____________________
— Date: ____________________
— Signature (only if sent on paper): ____________________
Where to send the item. Once we confirm your withdrawal, we send you the return address together with the instructions — please wait for that email before shipping anything, because depending on where your item was printed we may be able to give you a closer address.
Who pays return postage. For a standard change-of-mind withdrawal, the customer pays the cost of returning the item. (This is different from a faulty or wrong item — in that case we cover return costs; see section 11.) We recommend using a tracked service and keeping your proof of postage, as you are responsible for the item until it reaches us.
Refund on withdrawal. When you withdraw, we refund the price you paid for the goods plus the standard (cheapest) outbound shipping we offered. We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned item back, or until you provide proof that you have sent it, whichever is earlier. Refunds are made to your original payment method, and we aim to process them within 14 days of that point.
10. Exchanges and size swaps
Because every item is printed to order, we don't operate a traditional stock-based exchange. If you need a different size, colour, or design, the simplest route is usually to use your 14-day right of withdrawal (section 9) for the original item and place a new order for the one you want.
That said, we're a small friendly project — if you email us at [email protected] with your order number and what went wrong, we'll do our best to help you get to the right item. If the wrong size was our or the printer's error, section 11 applies and we cover the costs.
11. Damaged, defective or wrong items — your legal guarantee
Separate from the 14-day withdrawal right, you have a statutory legal guarantee of conformity. Under Portuguese law, this guarantee for new goods lasts 3 years from delivery. This means that if an item is faulty, damaged on arrival, misprinted, or not what you ordered, you are entitled to a remedy at no cost to you.
How to claim. Email [email protected] as soon as reasonably possible after you notice the problem, and include:
- Your order number;
- A short description of the issue;
- Clear photos of the item and, for print/damage issues, of the affected area (and the shipping packaging if it was damaged).
Please report obvious transit damage or a wrong/misprinted item promptly (ideally within a few days of delivery) so we can resolve it quickly — but your statutory rights are not lost simply because some time has passed within the legal guarantee period.
What you get. Where the fault is our or the fulfilment partner's error, we will arrange a free replacement or a full refund, at no shipping cost to you. In these cases you do not pay return postage — if we need the item back, we'll provide a prepaid label or reimburse your reasonable return costs, and the refund includes what you originally paid for shipping.
12. How and when refunds are issued
All refunds are issued to the account the payment came from — the same MB WAY number or the same IBAN used to pay. We cannot refund to a different account or person; if the paying account can no longer receive money, write to us and we'll sort it out with you.
Timing:
- Withdrawal (section 9): processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned item, or of you providing proof that you've sent it back — whichever comes first.
- Damaged/defective/wrong items (section 11): processed promptly once we've confirmed the issue from your photos or the returned item.
After we process a refund, it may take a few additional business days for your bank or payment provider to show the money in your account — that final step is on their side, not ours. Refunds are made in euros (EUR); any difference caused by currency conversion or fees on your provider's side is outside our control.
13. Contact
